The ACLJ is joining forces with Robert Tyler and Advocates for Faith & Freedom to represent Calvary Chapel San Jose and Pastor Mike McClure in a critical fight for religious freedom. During the lockdowns, the church continued worship services and declined to enforce Gov. Gavin Newsom’s mask mandates—triggering more than $1.2 million in fines. We view this as government weaponization against faith, and we’re taking the case to the U.S. Supreme Court to defend the First Amendment for every American.
