Very fast when used with very fast cards
I bought this specifically to get better transfer speeds than my older micro SD cards were delivering. Turns out there is a difference. My SanDisk Extreme 128GB (red/bronze, U3, A2) was reading 97 and writing 90 with my old reader, but the Kingston delivered faster performance -- dramatically in the 165 read and noticeable in the 113 write. I had similarly fast results with a 64GB SanDisk Extreme. Other standard cards (Samsung Evo Select green/white series, SanDisk Ultra Plus, SanDisk Industrial, Samsung Pro Endurance) did not show any performance shift; they read fine but no faster than on a reader from two years ago.
So, pair this with a fast card, and you'll get faster results. It's my go-to for around-the-house "sneakernet" data transfers between machines.
