🌊 Venice may disappear this century!
Venice is being called a city that could disappear this century. Situated on a lagoon, it's slowly subsiding, while sea levels continue to rise. Because of this, high water is becoming more frequent, and during flood season, locals wear rubber boots, and tourists are sometimes even helped with footwear. The city is protected by MOSE barriers, but scientists warn that even these systems could reach their limits with further sea level rise.
