(REVIEW) Current Debit Card
Current is an online-only bank with a Current Debit Card. It has a free and paid version.
Free Current Card has a basic set of banking functionality.
You can set up a direct deposit to receive your salary. But if you want to have the early direct deposit feature - you will need a paid version that will cost you $5.
You can withdraw money through a network of 55 thousands ATMs. The network is called Allpoint.
You can also deposit cash at chain stores like Walmart for a small fee of $3.5
The deposit is limited to $500 per transaction and $1000 per day.
You can also deposit paper checks using the Mobile Check Deposit feature.
The Basic Current card doesn’t allow you to have overdrafts. But in the paid version you can overdraft up to $100 for free.
Another great feature is instant gas hold refunds. Usually when you pay for gas - gas stations put a hold on $100.
Next feature to consider is a savings pod. It allows you to set aside money for a rainy day.
With a free account you will have only one savings pod and with paid - 3 savings accounts.
What I don’t like here is that savings pods don't earn interest.
Unique feature of Current Bank is that it allows you to have additional teens accounts. Each teens account will cost you $36 per year and the card will look like this.
