One of the cost optimization findings in Stratusphere™ FinOps recommends resizing your Amazon EC2 instances to reduce your cloud spend, while still keeping applications running. The "Resource ID" field in Stratusphere points you to the AWS account and AWS region where the EC2 instance exists. Amazon EC2 allows you to resize instances that are launched under the on-demand pricing model, however EC2 spot instances cannot be resized without snapshotting and recreating them. In this video, we demonstrate how to locate EC2 instances that have been flagged for optimization, and how to perform the resize operation from the AWS Management Console. You can take this cost optimization process further by automating the resize process, but that is outside the scope of this video.
