You are manually copying events from spreadsheets into Google Calendar and wasting hours every week, but it isn't necessary. In this video, I show you how to build a fully automated Google Sheets to Google Calendar importer using Google Apps Script. I made this easy enough so anyone, regardless of tech literacy can do it.
This script reads rows from a Google Sheet and creates real calendar events, including all-day events, timed meetings, descriptions, locations, and private visibility. It also prevents duplicates and writes an import status back to the sheet so you always know what was successfully synced. Note that if you have different fields from I have in the video, the code won't work unless you update the which fields you use in the code. You should be able to figure this out without programming experience, but if you have trouble, just let me know in the comments and I'll try to help you out.
This is perfect for:
Content creators scheduling uploads
Teams managing shared calendars
Researchers tracking deadlines
Anyone stuck copy-pasting events from spreadsheets
You will learn:
How to structure your Google Sheet for calendar imports
How to connect Apps Script to Google Calendar
How to handle all-day vs timed events
How to prevent duplicate imports
How to add row-by-row error tracking
No add-ons. No Zapier. No paid tools. Just a clean, reliable Google Apps Script.
If you work with spreadsheets and calendars, this will change how you manage time.
I also made a video for how to do this with Microsoft Excel to Microsoft Outlook - check it out if interested: • How to Add Events/Appointments in Bulk fro...
