How to Lock/Unlock Selected Cells in Excel
In this video, you’ll learn how to lock and unlock specific cells in Excel to protect your data from unwanted changes. Perfect for creating secure templates, reports, and data entry sheets.
✅ Steps:
1️⃣ Select the cells you want to keep editable.
2️⃣ Press Ctrl + 1 → Go to Format Cells → Protection.
3️⃣ Uncheck Locked → Click OK.
4️⃣ Now go to the top menu: Review → Protect Sheet.
5️⃣ Choose a password (optional) and confirm.
Now only your selected cells remain unlocked while all others are protected.
Tip: To unlock again → Just remove sheet protection from Review → Unprotect Sheet.
