Learn how to automatically track the number of words you write every day using google docs, google sheets, and google drive. The script automatically runs every day and updates the number of words you've written in the spreadsheet.
If you're serious about tracking writing, this script will save you time AND give you motivation to keep writing (even after NaNoWriMo is over). Every day, you will automatically receive an email that summarizes your writing progress over the last 24 hours.
Once everything is properly installed, you only need to do 2 things:
1. Make sure your working files are in your Sandbox folder.
2. Write.
Automatically tracking my word count made a huge difference for my writing habit! Over the course of a year, tracking my writing kept me focused on my long term goal and gave me satisfaction from little bits of incremental progress.
