נחשב עד היום לאחד הרומאנים המפורסמים בהיסטוריה האמריקאית. ההרצאה תתמקד בהשפעות אופנת שנות העשרים הקודמות ואווירת הג'ז ברומן ובשתי הגרסאות הקולנועיות שנעשו לו. כמו כן, אדבר על מוטיב הצבעים המרכזי ברומן הספרותי והאופן שבו הוא מתורגם בקולנוע לחגיגה צבעונית שמגדירה כל אחת מהדמויות המרכזיות ברומן.

This video is a preview of my full fashion history talk "Fashion, Jazz and Symbolism in The Great Gatsby".
The Great Gatsby is a 1925 novel by F.Scott Fitzerald and is considered one of the greatest novels in American literature to this day.
My talk will focus on the fashions of the 1920s and the Jazz age atmosphere, and how it influenced both the novel and its two main film adaptations. I will also explore the color themes in the novel and how they came alive in the film adaptations as a means of defining each of the main characters.
