Asia and the Pacific SDG Progress 2021
The Asia and the Pacific Sustainable Development Goals Progress Report 2021 comes at a time when the impacts of the pandemic have already been felt across the economic, social, and environmental dimensions of development. Yet, results from the 2021 edition show that the region fell short of its 2020 milestone for the SDGs, even before entering the global pandemic. Therefore, recovery from COVID-19 and implementation efforts to deliver the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development must go hand-in-hand.
Progress in our diverse subregions continues to be uneven and there are troubling signs of stagnation and regression, particularly on environment-related goals. It is our hope that the Report and the National SDG Tracker will make meaningful contributions to national policymaking processes as we proceed into the Decade of Action; To deliver the Sustainable Development Goals during the COVID-19 pandemic and the decade ahead.
