Today I'll be sharing the first part of a News Feed mobile application that we will build using Dart and Flutter. This is going to be a mobile application that runs on both Android and IOS, and we will be using a Django backend server which we send API requests to. We won't be writing the code for the Django backend server, instead I already wrote that code, and will show you how to clone the server from GitHub and get it running on your local environment. The main focus of this tutorial series will be on making a mobile application using Dart and Flutter which is why I won't be writing the code for the Django backend server in this tutorial series.
Here is an overview of the things you will learn in this tutorial project:
1. You will learn how to get up and running with Dart and Flutter.
2. You will learn how to create Widgets in Dart and Flutter.
3. You will learn how to make API requests to a backend server, and in particular how to also make these requests to a backend server running on your local machine.
4. You will learn how to make stateful and stateless components.
5. You will learn how to have something organized in a List and display it onto the screen.
6. And you will learn how to make a mobile app, holy cow!.
In this part, I will be doing an overview of the mobile application that we will be building in this tutorial series, and I will show you how to set up your environment so that you can use Dart and Flutter whether you're on windows or a Mac operating system.
