In this tutorial, we demonstrate the updated 2026 workflow for cropping your video clips in DaVinci Resolve to remove unwanted edges or create a specific frame composition. To begin, select your clip on the timeline and open the "Inspector" panel in the top-right corner of the interface. Under the "Video" tab, locate the "Cropping" section and expand it to reveal sliders for "Crop Left," "Crop Right," "Crop Top," and "Crop Bottom." Alternatively, you can use the "Transform" onscreen controls by selecting the "Crop" tool from the dropdown menu at the bottom-left of the Viewer, allowing you to manually click and drag the edges of your footage directly. We also show how to use the "Softness" slider to create a feathered edge for seamless blending or "Retouching" purposes. By mastering these cropping tools, you can easily adjust your framing, create split-screen effects, or eliminate distracting background elements in DaVinci Resolve 2026.
