In this video, we will see how to create subnets for class B networks or in class B IP addresses with CIDR ranges /24 till /30.
First we will see example with /24 CIDR and also understand how to calculate the following to create subnets:
Number of subnets- how many subnets will be created using this CIDR value.
New Subnet Mask- subnet mask for created subnets since new subnet mask will be used for the subnets.
Number of host per subnet- how many valid host will be there in each subnet.
Block Size- what will be the subnet length.
After calculating the above mentioned values we will create subnets and foe each subnet we will calculate the following:
Subnet ID / Address
First valid IP address
Last valid IP address
Broadcast address
Then we will also take another example using CIDR value /26
