How to downgrade your GD to an older version! [2.208→2.207] (no Steam console!) (READ COMMENTS!)
CHECK DESCRIPTION!
Before doing any of this, MAKE A BACKUP of your data:
1. [steam directory]\steamapps\common\Geometry Dash
2. C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Local\GeometryDash
3 (optional). C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Local\Octavus - MegaHack data
For example, if downgrading to 2.1, you’ll have to backup data in those folders in order to save your progress, as otherwise it will be overwritten!
To disable automatic update: cog or RMB → properties → updates → set “automatic updates” to "only update this game when I launch it"
To find .exe file: cog or RMB → manage → browse local files
(or just find it on your PC) → start GeometryDash.exe

some frequently asked questions and other issues other people had:
carefully check that everything is done like in the video before commenting. also read other questions in comments before asking your own.
your windows users's name must be in English, and (preferably) without spaces.
to install geode/megahack, just select the downloaded GeomteryDash.exe when installing.
if it says "it says depotdownloader.dll does not exist", check your antivirus.
to backup a savefile (all .dat files in the C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Local\GeometryDash folder), just copy it somewhere else.
if nothing works with the downloaded downgraded GD, you can instead replace all files in the existing GD's folder ([steam directory]\steamapps\common\Geometry Dash) with the old (downloaded) ones.
