I show you how to measure the parameters of a square wave using good old techniques and analog instruments.
The homemade calibrator was made thirty-five years ago and has calibrated bipolar square wave outputs of 3 volts, 1 volts, 100 millivolts, and 30 millivolts. The output signal frequency is about 1 kHz and, by design, is not standardized, therefore the calibrator is assembled according to the scheme of a conventional RC multivibrator on a 218GG1 hybrid microcircuit. This microcircuit contains all the necessary elements for assembling a multivibrator, except for frequency-setting capacitors. The microcircuit uses 2T318A open-frame transistors.

The video examines the measurement of the repetition period and pulse duration with a Ch3-57 frequency meter. Also shown is the measurement of the rise time of the pulse front with an analog S1-65A oscilloscope.
