While getting used to operating my Tascam DR-60D recorder in conjunction with my Canon EOS70D DSLR camera, I uncovered an electrical interference problem when I connected the camera audio out from the recorder to the mic input of the camera. This rendered the audio quality on the camera very poor and unuseable for any production purpose save visual synchronisation. Suspecting a ground loop fault, I introduced an isolating connecting lead complete with two isolation transformers. I had constructed the lead to resolve a similar problem when taking audio out of a notebook PC. it solved the problem. It is worth noting that the interference occurs only when the camera is mounted atop the DR-60D using the supplied bracket, and with the camera in video record mode. It will be interesting to see if others have experienced the same problem, and if so how they have overcome it. CORRECTION: 3:05 and 3:24 should read DR-60D R (not L) - oops!
