#8 : Strings in Python3 || Indexing in Python String || Basics of Programming
In the last chapter we, discussed about Immutable and Mutable data types in Python. We also talked in detail about various data types under each category and Sequence types
However, based on your responses we realized a need to include Sequence types in further detail in our Python for Data Science course
In this video on working with Strings in Python3, we shall learn how to
work with strings in python3
using single quotes, double quotes and multiline strings
indexing in python string
positive and negative indexing in strings in python
converting strings to uppercase and lowercase : upper() , lower()
Additionally, we talked about escape sequences
** Escape sequences are special characters used in the form of backslash (\) followed by a character to change its meaning
For example, single quotes are used for both "enclosing strings" as well as "apostrophe"
In programming, the general meaning of quotes is to enclose strings (default), in order to resemble the quotes to mean apostrophe, we escape it using the \
