Why is dialing in a good heavy, dense, thick, clear, tight, and crisp guitar tone so difficult?
This is one aspect of heavy music production that we all seem to struggle with at some point or another.
I struggled with this for many years (more than I'd like to admit).
The guitar tone on so many pro-level metal records always seems to sit just right. That tone that's so heavy and full while somehow remaining crystal clear.
What secrets are the pros using to achieve such great sounding guitar tones within their productions on such a consistent basis??
Is it the use of expensive guitars and amps?
Is it the magical high-end gear that they're using within their professional studios?
The good news is that it's a lot simpler than most people think.
I learned this the hard way by spending thousands of dollars on dumb gear that I didn't really need only to learn that it was much simpler than I had ever thought.
