I love training dive leaders and favor mentor style training. This naturally entails a close relationship between candidate and mentor, so it is helpful to have a close starting point in terms of goals and philosophy of the training.
Once the training starts, it sometimes becomes apparent that the match is not a good one...

a. Honestly, how can a 2/3 week of skills check boxes prepare someone to be a dive leader…
