You have to write a big document: Thesis, Report, Publication, Book... and your might have heard of LaTex but you are not sure you should learn it? October is used for the writing community participating in the NaNoWriMo challenge in November as a preparation month (prep-tober). We will do the same but to prepare to write your documents in LaTex. I am not expert in LaTex but I have written a couple of documents and I want to show you why LaTex is such an excellent option to create documents and stay faithful to the Open Science and FAIR data principles.
In this video I will introduce you to the video series and which Online (Overleaf) and Offline (TexStudio, MikTek, TexMaker) resources you can use to practice. I will be using TexStudio. For installation of your offline program, there are excellent resources in YouTube.
My purpose in this series is to give you a tool to write your documents in a way compatible with Open Science. I can show you what I know and use for my documents and what I recommend my PhD, Master and Bachelor students to use. I hope it helps you.
If you want to see what it means to start your own lab, follow me in my Weekly Vlogs.
