To begin, open the Instagram app on your mobile device.
Locate the messenger icon in the top right corner and tap on it.
You'll then be directed to your inbox, where all your Instagram chats are stored.
By tapping on a chat, you can view the conversation between you and the other person.
If you've accidentally deleted a chat or conversation, you'll need to download it.
To do this, return to the home screen of Instagram and tap on the profile icon in the bottom right corner.
Then, navigate to the menu icon in the top right corner, which resembles three horizontal lines, and tap on it.
In the settings and activity section, select "your activity" under "How to use Instagram."
Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and locate "download your information," then tap on it.
Next, tap on "Download or Transfer information."
On the following screen, choose the Instagram account for which you want to download information, and then tap on "next."
Now tap on "some of your information." On the next page, scroll down and select "messages," then tap on "next."
Ensure that "Download to device" is selected on the next page, and then tap on "next" again.
Select your desired date range and click on "create files."
It may take 10 to 15 minutes to create the file. Once the creation is complete, you can download it, and that's it.
