How do we teach the Power of Understanding to our children now?
In July 2025, we will focus on the Power of Understanding, which is "the ability to know, perceive, and apprehend". "... It is the faculty that puts feet under our prayers and gives our spiritual activity something to stand on." (quoted from unity.org). And lastly, Thich Nhat Hanh shares the thought that "understanding is love's other name".
In the classroom, we will focus on igniting the Power of Understanding of our "sensory selves' and lay the foundation for accepting our myriad of thoughts. We will utilize that renewed conceptualization of our Understanding to express compassion towards others through active listening, empathetic presence, and shared problem solving for the future.
