The Steam Awards 2021 winners revealed
The 2021 Steam Awards winners have finally been revealed, after the Steam community voted for their top picks in each category.
To kick off, we have Resident Evil Village snagging the coveted ‘Game of The Year’ title, beating out nominees like Valheim, New World, Cyberpunk 2077 and Forza Horizon 5.
We also have Virtual Reality Game of The Year, which was awarded to ‘Cooking Simulator VR’.
The winning title “pushes the boundaries of the virtual realm” by “taking advantage of the medium of virtual reality”.
Keeping thematically consistent, the ‘Best Soundtrack’ award was handed to Marvel’s Guardians of The Galaxy, which would no doubt make James Gunn himself proud!
Most Innovative Gameplay goes to Deathloop, which is hardly surprising considering the waves Deathloop made in 2021.
The Labour of Love award should be no surprise to anyone, with Terraria taking the title.
After the developers finished work on the game, they continued to update it for free many times, which just goes to show the level of care and love the developers have for this title.
