The front wall was the most difficult of all of the walls so-far, and I expect it to remain that way. The next wall is a bit easer as many of the studs that are there remain. But this wall was definitely a challenge! In this video I remove half of the door frame, cut and install a replacement sole plate and stud that will represent the new door opening on that side, cut the existing header to a new length, cut the old sill out, and finally cap the end of the newly cut header with a new king stud. Before installing the new sole plate, I coated the entire area with Copper Cote wood treatment. It was a very long day, and there are several more to come before it's finished — but when it is, there will be a door on the place!
