Future Leningrad football legend Yuri Zheludkov, like many other young men, began playing in the yard until he and his friends attended a football school in Peterhof.
While playing for Zenit's reserve team, he was closely watched by leading coaches in the Union. Offers were quickly forthcoming, but Yuri decided to stay in his native Leningrad and soon became a true symbol of the blue-white-sky blues.
