When experiencing pushback, If the board is already giving the maximum amount of power available, the board will not be able to accelerate in response to your request and you essentially ask the board to go faster than it can manage. The board will not power off or shut down at this point; but rather the board won't be able to keep up with your body accelerating. As this can take place in less than a second of time, it can feel like the board halts mid-ride when, in reality, the rider just accelerated faster than the board could handle and the balance was lost.
