Dixie my Baby Deer
Hey Y'all! Here's a glimpse of some of the care that goes into raising up a baby deer that I helped rescue. ❤️ Unfortunately, her mother was killed by a car and she was found near her mom on the side of the road by my licensed veterinarian. It was during a really bad storm and obviously he didn't want to leave her all shaking and cold on the side of the road, so he picked her up and called me asking if I wanted to help rescue her and raise her up. I have a lot of experience raising many different species of animals and I've been raising calves for many years so he felt comfortable leaving her in my care. Raising a fawn is a lot of work which includes around the clock feedings and care... but she's definitely worth it, I love this beautiful little princess! 😍❤️ When she's old enough and strong enough to make it on her own she's free to leave the property, just like my other "pet" Albert did. (who I still miss)❤️
