Aerogel insulation fire test by KORDA engineers
The quartz agel INSUFLEX 650 used in Korda-ChSTE removable thermal covers can withstand temperatures up to +650 °C, and a layer 25 mm thick is enough to protect the human hand from direct exposure to a blowtorch. The melting point of the airgel is +1200 °C, as it's stated by the manufacturer.
But the statistical data was not enough for the ETS Korda design bureau, so they decided to conduct their own experiment aimed to confirm the documentation data.
