Perimeter is an important concept for school mathematics. In this video we introduce the concept of perimeter with an example.
To calculate the perimeter, imagine that someone has to run around the sides of the shape. The total distance that would be covered is the perimeter. In other words, it is the sum of the sides.
The Perimeter of a Triangle = Sum of its sides
The Perimeter of a Rectangle = 2 * (Length + Breadth)
The Perimeter of a Square = 4 * (Side).
In a square, the sides are equal, so the perimeter can be calculated easily by multiplying the side by 4.
