The issue was caused by Malwarebytes' anti-exploit module blocking Chrome from loading after a Windows 11 update. Customers were advised to temporarily disable Chrome's protection in Malwarebytes as a workaround. Malwarebytes has now resolved the conflict with Chrome on up-to-date Windows 11 systems. The fix enables Chrome as a protected application without applying the anti-exploit code to all Chrome processes. Users can receive the fix by updating to Component version 1.0.2047 and Malwarebytes version 4.5.31.270. The update will be automatically applied over time, but users can manually update through Malwarebytes settings. Customers who used the workaround should re-enable anti-exploit protection for Chrome after installing the fix. The same Windows 11 update also broke Chrome on systems protected by Cisco and WatchGuard EDR. Affected customers were advised to disable anti-exploit protection or set Chrome as the default browser. A fix from Cisco and WatchGuard is yet to be released.
