The serve is a skill every volleyball player needs to master, as it starts every point of a volleyball match. A volleyball player can make their serve a scoring opportunity or a chance to disrupt an opponent’s offense by adding different serves to their arsenal.
An effective serve to use is the float serve. To make the ball float, hand contact is key. Volleyball players will need to start with a high elbow and wrist. As the volleyball player tosses the ball, they’ll want to step through the ball toward the target and finish with their hand following through past their hip.
