Thrive with Pride by AgeOptions is an inclusive online space for LGBT+ older adults and those who care for them in suburban Cook County. This video is a recording of our October 2023 event. In honor of LGBT+ History Month, we hosted a unique community event featuring two storytellers from Chicago Methodist Senior Services’ GOLD program! The GOLD Program (GLBT+ Older Adults Leading Initiatives to Drive Change) amplifies the voices of LGBT+ older adults to promote inclusion in aging services.. The live event included a Q&A discussion, which was not recorded. Read below for information on how to join us next time, or signup for reminders on our website at https://www.thrivingwithpride.org/

Please help us by filling out this brief, anonymous feedback survey, which allows us to improve our events and tell our funders how important LGBT+ older adult programming is: https://forms.office.com/r/2Ud07BPY1X

Chicago Methodist Senior Services (CMSS) provides a continuum of services and residences to support the needs of older adults at every step of life. Learn more at https://www.cmsschicago.org/

Thrive with Pride cafes are held on Zoom on the fourth Tuesday of every month. Please join us for our next monthly event on November 28, 2023. We welcome Mike Ziri, Director of Public Policy at Equality Illinois, the state's LGBTQ+ civil rights organization. At a time of unprecedented, hateful, and harmful attacks on the rights of LGBTQ+ people across the country, Mike will present about the challenges LGBTQ+ people experience in Illinois; how this state continues to advance pro-equality, pro-family policies that support and affirm LGBTQ+ people; and ways that community members can engage in advocacy to build a better Illinois.
