This piece makes me realize how weak my ring and pinky finger truly are (so much ornamentation, lmaoooo). Anyways, I'm really proud of this speedrun arrangement, and I hope my enjoyment showed through my performance. For this piece, simpler is truly better to make the melody shine, and so I had to restrain myself from making it too busy sounding by overloading the arrangement with thicccc chords. Towards the end, I decided to replace the rather quiet ending with a bit of improv (involving Gb major and Bm6, a small reference to a well-known Christmas song, and a Gb major 7 arpeggio to round it out); hopefully I didn't butcher the piece by doing so. 😅😜
Whatever holidays you may celebrate before the new year rolls around, I hope it's a fantastic one! Gotta have something happy to round off this rather stressful year, eh? I look forward to spending a much more incredible 2021 with you all. Happy holidays, and count this as a Christmas special, I guess (if I don't make another video tomorrow).
As always, 楽しんでください。
