Sonic 2 Absolute Master Edition 4 (Sonic 2 Absolute Mod) by DonaldTube - Full Longplay
Sonic 2 Absolute Master Edition 4 is an odd Sonic 2 Absolute mod created by DonaldTube, and yeah this is the first time I ever took a look at one of his mods. And I really meant it when I say this is an odd Sonic 2 Absolute mod, mainly due to some odd sprite change and sprite removal decisions, and apparently older versions of this mod used Rainbow Dash from MLP for some reason? That's a whole other story I don't know about though. The oddest decision for this mod though, is reusing music from Sesame Street Absolute, the latest version of course. I have nothing against it, but it might make some players of this mod question some music choices, though at least the sound effects from Sesame Street Absolute aren't reused here aside from the Sesame Workshop jingle. The sprite changes aren't really the worst I've seen, but why there's white highlights on the character's shoes is beyond me, and yeah Knuckles seems to be the most odd and unfinished feeling, as well as his spindash flickering. I really question why it's called Master Edition 4 as well, I mean I'm guessing it's trying to be like the Sonic Master Edition hacks, but there's no hard level design or any unique palettes, so what's the point? Overall, I'll give DonaldTube a pass on this mod as well as his other mods since at least they're not the most low effort, and plus he did help me with making Buizel for Pikachu 2 Absolute, which I still need to release an update for by the way.
