Description:
When it comes to displaying data over time, it's easy to fall into the trap that you should always use some form of line graph. While line graphs are a great default when displaying chronological data, they aren't always your best option!

One of my favorite alternatives, especially when trying to display two metrics over time, is the Circle Timeline Chart. A Circle Timeline Chart allows you to encode one measure on size and another on color to drive meaning.

If you need do display two measures over time and feel like a shared axis or dual axis chart isn't doing the trick, check out the circle timeline! It might be just the solution and visual variety that you need!
