"Mercury" - 18-gun military brig of the Russian fleet. It was founded in Sevastopol on January 28 (February 9) in 1819 and launched on May 7 (19), 1820. In May 1829, during the Russian-Turkish war (1828-1829), a brig under the command of Lieutenant-Captain Alexander Ivanovich Kazarsky won an unequal battle with two Turkish ships of the line, which immortalized his name St. George flag.
