Quick Demonstration Of G-Sync Appearing To Be Working When It Isn't Using FrameView

So just because the G-Sync indicator is there doesn't mean that it is engaged which leads to even more confusion, as if Nvidia didn't make it complicated enough to try to figure out how to use it correctly.

The easiest way I could think of to demonstrate this in a single quick recording was first install and then use Nvidia Frameview:

https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/techn...

Frameview is free, easy to use and works on Nvidia & AMD. Frameview uses PresentMon for analytics so with a hot key press you can enabled benchmark mode and have it log highly detailed set of realtime metrics to be viewed later in Google Sheets etc.

It also has on-screeen display that shows current FPS stats, frames dropped & frames presented, what your current platform latency as well as current overlay mode in use:

(F for FullScreen)
(W for Windowed)
(I for iFlip mode AKA Independent flip mode)
(T for tearing is allowed)
(V for V-Sync enabled)

Then run the game in Fullscreen Optimized (FSO) which is done by changing the line Fullscreenmode=1 to =0 in GamerUserSettings.ini from =1 to =0 with G-Sync enabled and set to Fullscreen only and then start the game at the maximum refresh rate of 144Hz record a minute or so of stats then shut down the game and change refresh rate to 120Hz.

Since the game is not actually in FullScreen Exclusive and is in FullScreen Optimized it won't be able to change the refresh rate up to 144Hz because in FSO (just like in Windowed Borderless) the desktop dictates the refresh rate.

I could also have then ran the game in FSE but I thought of that right after I stopped recording. I could make another though including FSE if anyone is interested.
