Giving your baby formula in addition to breast milk is indeed an option for some mothers. And, this is indeed very safe as long as it's balanced and not excessive.
There are various reasons why breastfeeding mothers might combine breast milk and formula with their little ones. Some of these reasons include urgent needs, such as a low milk supply, premature birth, medical treatment, or other personal preferences.
If you choose to give your baby a combination of breast milk and formula, be sure to breastfeed first and then complete the feeding with formula. Furthermore, it's best not to mix breast milk with powdered formula.
