My first song translation, so it is not perfect. I hope you enjoy regardless. Please forgive me for any mistakes
This song is about the relationship between a student and a teacher. The bobbed-hair student is named Ritsuko and the teacher is named Akari.
Lyrics:
Her eyes are black crystals,
she looks beautiful in her kimono made of daffodils.
S-s-s-sensei, fawning over you with my head in the clouds
Teased by such a pathetic love...
The two of us are sisters[1], a devoted bond
Inside the classroom, hiding lipstick marks that are thicker than the pressure of a pen.
Notice the bobbed-haired girl will stay behind
I'm the princess of Esu[2], so let me be spared.
When I graduate, I'll be proud...
In love with such delusions, even today.
As I turn the pages of my textbook, I'm waiting for you.
Two shameless people after school
When our delicate fingers meet and intertwine,
I forget how to even breathe.
Please scold me for being so irresponsible!
Take off my sailor uniform, and pluck my maiden's spring like a sin.
With a melancholic look, just like drawing Hanamaru[3], she traces my shy body in such a lewd way.
Just me,
Just me.
Only me!
Love me. Okay? Sensei.
Rumors spread through the halls,
Was your promise to me a lie?
You never told me you were meeting someone.
Soaring alone, It's not a good thought.
The two of us are sisters, when did our love end?
Inside the classroom, struggling to make sense of things.
The bobbed-hair girl sulks again today, the secrets of Esu are troubling.
I won't hand Sensei over to someone I don't know
I'm just a child, so the adult world is confusing.
I don't understand it, and I can't help it.
Being so close to graduation, I'm not going to let it end like this.
Don't get in the way of our love!
If you take off my sailor uniform, will I become an adult?
The pure spring, ripe to the point of melancholy,
seems it's fleeting and falling apart.
Tears are falling, but my body is honest.
Just you,
Just you,
Only you...
Don't go. Okay, Sensei.
Take off my sailor uniform, but I'll never grow up.
How could you become the wife of someone you don't even like?
Is romance between two girls just an empty dream?[4]
Took off my sailor uniform, and (said) farewell to spring
I'm leaving it in the shoe cabinet, my unfulfilled wish.
This is the end of your familiar love.
If I get used to the pain, will I become an adult?
I love you.
I loved you,
I love you!
Please take care of yourself. Sensei...
notes:
"Sensei" here means "teacher" for those who don't know.
[1] "Sister" here is not in terms of actual sisters. Refer below to [2]. The "S" in Class S can stand for "sister". (You know how historians would call relationships between two men or two women as "close friends" or "like siblings" when it can obviously be read as romantic? I think It's similar to that here.)
[2] Esu was a term to refer to romantic friendships between girls, usually between a senpai and kōhai (senior and junior.) In this case, a teacher and student. It is also called "Class S" or just "S".
[3] Flower circles, they're essentially gold stars, signifying perfect scores or a good job.
[4] - lit: "Is the love between a girl and a girl just a pipe dream?"
[extra] - "spring" here refers to Ritsuko's womanhood/purity/youth, not actual springtime.
