Flex App No Cell Signal Offline Mode for Amazon Drivers using Android
The Flex App for delivery drivers includes a backup plan for poor data connections. Several drivers asked how to solve this problem, so I will give them a solution that the old-school drivers use. I discuss this issue and many others in detail across many chapters of my book, including Chapter 21 - Mobile Data Disable, and Chapter 31 - Orange Loading Screen of Death. (Link below.)
The backup plan(s) shared in this video have a downside: if you turn airplane mode or mobile data back on after turning it off, you must not do so in an area with poor cell reception. Do not turn it back on in a poor cell reception area, or it will drop the completed deliveries. Ensure you are in an excellent cell reception area before turning it back on. Watch the entire video, and make sure you understand it before you try it, or you will be on the phone with support central trying to get all your completed deliveries marked as delivered, instead of on your way home after you get back to the desk.
It is mostly the area's geography that causes cell phone reception issues. Cell signals have a hard time penetrating concrete, like in large downtown buildings. In rural areas, especially in valleys or on mountain slopes, the geology can interfere with cell signals due to magnetite in the rocks. Around airports or multiple airport zones, it can also affect the cell signal. Heavily wooded areas, forests, and other land features can affect cell signal strength.
