“Model photography, combining LED and flash”
As an instructor on model photography Frank teaches his students to see and understand the light. Because, when you know how light behaves, you can meter it and manipulate it to your will. Also, it becomes much less difficult to use different light sources or shoot in more challenging situations.
For this episode of the Digital Classroom, we prepared a model shoot where we will combine LED & Flash, so we are in fact mixing continuous light with flash, a really cool combination.
Nowadays there are many different options for LED lights ranging from the super small but powerful Lume Cubes all the way to the powerful fresnels from Nanlite/Ledgo, during the shoot we show several options including the super-cool LED tubes from Nanlite that can produce almost every color and will give us some really creative solutions you don’t want to miss.

You’ll see Frank set up the light, coaching the model and taking the shot, but also which images he would select, meaning you get to see the whole process. During the shoot, Frank shoots tethered so you see all the images coming in during the session.
