In Loving Memory of Remarkable People
In late November 2021, the Union of Armenians of Russia hosted an evening in memory of outstanding scientists: physicist Mishik Kazaryan and epidemiologist Arpik Hasratyan. This married couple, who lived a life of love and harmony, passed away from coronavirus in the spring of 2020. Mishik Kazaryan was a lifelong employee of the legendary Lebedev Physical Institute (FIAN), a doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor, laureate of the USSR State Prize, academician of the Armenian Academy of Sciences, and author of numerous books, articles, and inventions in laser physics and nonlinear optics. Arpik Hasratyan was a doctor of medical sciences and professor, and left significant work in the fields of epidemiology and virology. Both were active in the Armenian community in Moscow and Russia. The evening featured speeches by Armenian Ambassador to Russia Vartan Toghanyan, President of the Union of Armenians of Russia Ara Abrahamyan, and friends and colleagues of the scientists. The International Television film "Mishik Kazaryan: The Path of the Seeker" was shown.
