There are two Instagram settings that you really need to check right now — they affect your privacy, activity visibility, and location data. Most users don’t even know these are ON by default 😳
In this video, I’ll show you step-by-step how to find and change them so your location and activity stay private.
📱 Steps covered in this video:
1️⃣ Open Instagram → tap your Profile icon (bottom right)
2️⃣ Tap the three lines (☰) at the top right → go to Settings
3️⃣ Scroll down to Story and Location → tap Location Sharing
4️⃣ Choose No one (this prevents location data from being shared while posting Stories or Reels)
5️⃣ Just below that, go to Activity in Friends Tab
6️⃣ Under Who can see your likes and comments on Reels, choose No one
7️⃣ That’s it — your Instagram is now much safer and more private ✅
🧠 Why it matters
These two settings directly affect your privacy and data sharing:
• Location Sharing: stops Instagram from tracking and showing where you post.
• Activity in Friends Tab: hides your likes and comments from others — keeping your activity private.
Changing these helps protect your personal data, reduce tracking, and give you more control over what others can see.
🔐 My Recommendation
Turn both options OFF or set them to No one unless you specifically want your friends or followers to see your activity. It’s better for privacy, safety, and peace of mind.
