How to use TRIM Function in Excel
In this video, I’ll show you how to use TRIM function in Excel.
The TRIM function in Excel remove all extra spaces before and after the text by keeping only one space between each word.
The TRIM formula in Excel, is part of Text formulas in Microsoft Excel. You can use the SUBSTITUTE and VALUE formula along with Excel TRIM function to trim the text, characters and numbers.

★★ How to Use TRIM Function ★★
SYNTAX of TRIM Function: =TRIM(text)
Arguments of TRIM Function:
Text: (argument required) – It is the text from which spaces removed.
• The TRIM function is one of the Text Functions in excel (trim text in excel).
• The Excel TRIM function helps to remove the extra spaces in data.
• The Excel TRIM formula removes the spaces from text, leaving only single spaces between texts and no spaces at the start or end of the text.
• The Excel TRIM function also helps in removing irregular spaces in data imported from other applications.
• The TRIM formula can trim the 7-bit ASCII space character (value 32) from text.
• The TRIM Function itself cannot remove the nonbreaking space character in excel. The Unicode text contains the non-breaking space character that has a decimal value of 160, which appear in web pages as the html entity.
• To TRIM Numbers in Excel, use the formula as: VALUE(TRIM(cell reference)).
• To TRIM Characters in excel (remove characters in excel), you can use the SUBSTITUTE formula. You can also combine the TRIM and SUBSTITUTE function for removing space and characters.
