Nero Recode supports both types of subtitles (soft subtitles and burn-in subtitles), giving you the flexibility to choose the best option for your videos.
Soft subtitles are separate files or embedded text streams that can be turned on or off by the viewer. They are typically used for adding captions or translations to videos. You could add soft subtitles when exporting to AVC， HEVC， MPEG-4 and MKV formats.
Supported subtitle format in Nero Recode: srt, ass, ssa, idx, ttml, vtt, sub, smi.
00:00: Start Nero Recode and import a video.
00:27: Select output profile and then expand the More Options arrow and click the Subtitles tab.
00:56: Select some subtitle files to add as soft subtitles for the video.
01:33: You can select a language Tag for a specific language. You can change the frame rate if necessary. You can also set delay duration if the subtitle display time does not match the video well.
00:02:43: Then you can play the encoded video with subtitles and switch between different languages/subtitles.
