Marketing hype = $600 Pocket LED sales…
The Profoto C1 Plus was released at $599 and had countless YouTube influencers praising its abilities for the measly cost of a free light. It is well built, versatile and not that bright in todays (or even the days of its release) LED market. Yet, as per the norm with the photography market, the idea of a new shinny toy had them selling like another “game changer”.
The one thing that stands out to me about these little lights is this… they always work when you use them. No misfires or quirky connection issues ever- they just work without fail. 3 generations in and not even the Rotolight got that right.
