"Outside the box workaround" alert. How I create no plot user notes for Revit.
It's not as easy to create text notes that won't show when printing in Revit as it is in AutoCAD. There are several ways to get around this. Some are easy to implement, but hard to maintain within a team. Others are more complex, but reliable.
This solution is not perfect, but it only takes a one-time 5-minute setup and can easily be transferred and reused in all your projects. Works for both horizontal (floor and ceiling plans) and vertical views (sections and elevations).
I recommend using this method as an internal way to communicate with your team (user notes, standards, etc...) and should be managed by BIM managers or coordinators. It can also be used as a way to have in-drawing notes, however it may get hard to control for your team.
