Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration, a non-binding agreement for better management of migration, adopted in 2018. It is the first inter-governmentally negotiated agreement, prepared under the auspices of the United Nations, to cover all dimensions of international migration in a holistic and comprehensive manner. The major goal of the compact is to assist nation states to frame well-managed migration policies. Aims for efforts to strengthen regular migration pathways and protect human rights of migrants.
