Description
During the American Civil War in the Mescalero Territory, a poverty stricken farmer, Edward McCarty, must deal with an Outlaw who lethally wounds his Wife. He becomes concerned that reacting violently will cause further problems and set a poor example for his Son, William. Feeling like a slave under his father's passivity and over-protectiveness, William gradually seeks revenge against the Outlaw, leading Edward to question if the sins of his Son are of his own making.
Those who desire to not be the heroes who intervene, but rather those who stand back and try to remain peaceful are the untold characters of the Western genre.
