Pokémon GO Championship Series Announcement

In our Season 9 blog post, we mentioned that your ranking at the end of this season would be more important than ever.
Now we're excited to announce the reason: the first Pokémon GO Championship Series is coming in 2022! Trainers from around the world will have the chance to battle against the best and earn an invitation to the 2022 Pokémon World Championships.
During the first year of the Pokémon GO Championship Series, Pokémon GO will appear in select events, including Regional and International Championships. The top Pokémon GO players at these events will earn an invitation to the 2022 Pokémon World Championships. These Pokémon GO events will have Senior and Masters age divisions.
You'll be able to sign up for these Play! Pokémon events over a two-phased period. Trainers who reach the rank of Legendary in the current Pokémon GO Battle League season will be able to sign up during a short early registration period, which will take place during the first few months of 2022. Once this period closes, Trainers of any rank will be able to sign up for one of the remaining spots. Trainers will have until Monday, November 29, 2021, to compete in the current season of the GO Battle League. The next season of the GO Battle League will grant access to a second batch of live event entries.
To enter these events, competitors must link their Pokémon GO account to their Pokémon Trainer Club account, have a Play! Pokémon Player ID, and agree to the Play! Pokémon Terms of Use.

Pokémon GO last took center stage at the Pokémon World Championships during the epic exhibition battles at the 2019 Invitational. Since then, the GO Battle League has been launched, bringing Pokémon GO's version of Pokémon battling to the global stage, and is now in its ninth season and counting. With Pokémon GO Trainer Battles returning to the main stage next year, we're excited to give GO Battle League competitors the opportunity to show the world what they're made of at the Pokémon World Championships.
